SmartBike DC: First Bicycle-Sharing Program in the U.S.
The New York Times reports a new bicycle-sharing program to be tested in Washington D.C., where, for a $40/year subscription, users will have access to check-out bikes from different spots throughout the city and use them for up to three hours. There are similar programs in place around the world, which some say have caused a significant [positive] effect in traffic and pollution problems.
